A BLDC motor consists of two main parts namely: stator and rotor. The rotor is a rotating part and has permanent magnets. The stator is a stationary part and has stator windings. This motor could be characterized as the modern kind of DC motor. The letters BLDC means B rush- L ess D irect C urrent. So, these motors have no brushes. A brushless DC motor is a synchronous motor because the magnetic fields created by the stator and rotor both rotate at the same frequency.
